access verb
[transitive] verbDon’t use the preposition to after the verb access. Use a direct object:
✗ Anyone can access to the website.
✓ Anyone can access the website.
✗ With cyber cafes, even those who cannot afford computers can access to the information they need.
✓ With cyber cafes, even those who cannot afford computers can access the information they need.
Don’t confuse the verb access with the noun access: the noun is followed by to:
Anyone can have access to the website.
When drug prices are high, people are more likely to commit crimes in order to get access to them.
